ENGLAND OUT OF WORLD CUP

And is it no wonder. Germany played well. England no midfield and certainly no defense. As well as Terry played last game he played just as bad this one. Disallowed goal a bummer but that happens at the World Cup (look at the US). All in all a very disappointing showing, Capellos' lineups were terrible, did not put players together who gelled. When you do bad for 3 games WHY do you keep the same players in. Where was Crouch in the middle for height.
Oh well there is always 2014 in Brazil WITHOUT CAPELLO... can we not find an English manager?

ITALY GONE!

Who would have thought Italy out of World Cup top 16. There is something to say for getting young blood into the sport. Although age sometimes is good for their experience it is not good for trying to keep up with their opponents. If Italy considers those young guys in 2014 they will be to old also. What a poor choice of player representation for Italy. I totally blame the coach for his reasoning that those young players are disruptive in the dressing room SO WHAT at least they would light a spark under the other players.

Earthquake.

Where were you when you felt the quake?

It's Time to Shine

Watching England game. We had better win or we are gone. Into 10 minutes so so. The guys up front are not connecting. Slovenia is putting up a great defense. England defending well to. Lets go England!

RUBBISH GAME

Capello has been a terrible terrible coach up to this point. Has not put players together that gel.
The players are all over the place. Where is Carrick and some others that might help out, Why stay with the same line-up that does not work.

ENGLAND a must win!

England really has to get its act together on Friday. Seems to be a lot of talk from the stars, now let's see them keep their promises. I know they will win, but what will the score be?

Saturday, June 12, 2010

England blows it!

England started well with Gerrard scoring at 4 min. 40th minute horrible play by Green letting in easy goal.
Capello will not be a happy man. Bet Green will not start again.

ENGLAND GO GO GO

Today the big match England against USA.
Will keep in touch.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOO England.

Hopefully we can get the word out... this is where you can get a little piece of back home in your new home.

Coronation Street Up-to-date

I think CBC should catch up a bit with Coronation Street episodes.

I could scream when I talk to someone who knows what is going to happen in Corrie... and then tells me!
Even maplejacks.ca site gives you the lastest from the newspapers on home page (my fault) and I am to tempted to read them, so I do.
So CBC please catch up a little 8 months behind is to far, maybe 2 months.
I remember when they ran 1 hour sessions of back to back episode to keep in reach. It's time to do it again... don't you think?

Chealsea Wins FA Cup

Congratulations to all Chelsea fans for getting the double.

Chelsea Wins Title

Man United out by 1 point

I am a huge Manchester United fan and am very disappointed at the second place finish.
BUT Chelsea played great all year long while Man U lost some crucial games to lower class teams.
So although it hurts me to say it CONGRATULATIONS CHELSEA and all their fans. Well done.

From Telegraph May 7 2010

Election turnout highest in 13 years

Experts suggested the figure was likely to be 65 per cent – compared to 61 per cent in 2005 and 59 per cent in 2001.

The last time turnout was higher was in 1997, when 71 per cent of people went to the polls.Stuart Wilks-Heeg, director of campaign group Democratic Audit, said: “The rise in turnout is significant but we are still way below where it use to be.“People were shocked in 1997 when turnout went into the low 70s. People might say this is a high turnout but in historical terms it is not.

”Mr Wilks-Heeg pointed to large differences in turnout between different constituencies, with tightly fought electoral battles attracting large numbers of people to the polls. He said: “In some places turnout was so high that the system of electoral administration could not cope. People were queuing for hours and hours, and this was unprecedented.

”Mr Wilks-Heeg said that problems at polling stations, where thousands of people were locked out and unable to vote, showed that “our system is breaking – and in places last night it broke”.

He said he hoped that the evidence that tens of thousands of young people decided to vote was not wasted, because voting was “habit forming”.

Who is a Maplejack

Were you born in the UK and then moved to Canada.
Do you sometimes wish you had that certain something
that the British way of life gives you, but at the same time
you crave the greatness of this country that allows you to
do SO much. What a feeling to love 2 countries.

I was born British and emigrated to Canada when I was 11.
It seems born a Brit always a Brit.
I love soccer – Man U fan all the way.
Have a passion for darts.
Respect the Royal Family & traditions.
Luv Marmite and Scotch Eggs

I embraced this country (Canada) from the moment I arrived.
Played Hockey for many years.
Watch and enjoy Baseball, Football, Hockey and Curling.
Will always support our National teams.
Love Burgers, Hot Dogs and Fries

It never felt right wearing or displaying just a Union Jack or Canadian flag
so I solved the problem. Embracing who I am... the Maplejack was born.
Now I can wear a symbol of both countries that mean so much to me.

Visit us at www.maplejacks.ca for lots more British.
